Does a pond add value to your home? Is it worth the time, effort, and cost?
If you’re considering adding a pond to your home, you might be wondering whether it’s worth the time, effort, and cost. Do ponds actually add value to properties or are they just a visually appealing feature? The fact is that a lot of people enjoy living near water, which is why there has been a rise in the number of properties incorporating ponds in recent years. Studies have shown that by adding a water feature—such as a pond—to your home, you can significantly increase the value of the property, so it’s no surprise that an increasing number of homeowners are deciding to add ponds to their homes. The lost, the abandoned, the beautiful How I long to restore them and give them the love that they deserve.
From city centres to secluded spots, there is no rule when it comes to abandoned property. I always wonder when I see such a building, how many stories could the walls tell about their owners? When and why do they become lost, become unloved and abandoned. With many it’s undoubtedly down to money. Amidst the sounds of the babbling brook, Brook Mill is bursting with character
Brook Mill proved a very happy home for the owners over three decades. It took them six years in all to renovate and transform the property, and it certainly was for them a labour of love. It was in a sorry state and there was the further challenge of turning it into a residential property. One thing that struck the owners immediately was the happy feeling within the property.…

Sensastional newly developed Victorian house with roof terrace
In the heart of Belgravia, this Victorian house has been reconfigured to create a contemporary three bedroom, three bathroom home benefiting from a stunning South facing roof terrace and mews parking. Innovative space planning along with the creative introduction of natural light makes for an extraordinary well lit mews house. A retractable glass ceiling above part of the reception room with glass flooring allows light to flow directly into the lower ground floor. 48 Belgrave Mews North and the adjoining Wilton Crescent property were first envisioned by Thomas Cundy II, a Grosvenor Estate surveyor in 1821. Following the appointment of master builders Thomas Cubitt and William Howard Seb-Smith, construction was…

The picturesque High Wood Barn – Awe-inspiring views over the Yorkshire Dales
A Beauty Spot Situated at the end of the pretty village of Rathmell (population only 300!) on the southern edge of the Yorkshire Dales lies High Wood Barn, a very special home off a little leafy lane. With awe-inspiring 360 degree views over the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales, High Wood Barn was once just that – a majestic stone and timber barn, blending perfectly with its surroundings. Now painstakingly restored, the house now has the quite exceptional view of Pen Y Ghent from several of the rooms, including the dramatic galleried living room, and the picture-postcard gardens. Rathmell is approximately three miles from Settle, a market town in…
